Prices fell from 21.15 Euros/kg in January/February to 17.20 Euros/kg in April (EU market). Cardamom powder which has high demand in the US market costs 22.50 USD/kg and is anticipated to go higher.
- Market prices for essential oils 16 May 08 [European Union, Middle East, USA]The EU market offers trade opportunities for essential oils exporters. Citronella, lemon grass and eucalyptus oil are highly demanded in the EU specifically in German and Denmark. US market continues to offer better prices for ginger powder as compared to the EU market. A kilogram of eucalyptus costs 90 Euros/kg as compared to the 75 Euros/kg in the US market.
- Market prices for ginger 16 May 08 [European Union, USA]The US market continues to offer better prices for ginger powder as compared to the EU market. A kilogram of powder fetches between 11.25 to 15.00 US/kg in the US compared to EU as seen below. There was a noticeable improvement in prices from 11.25 USD/kg in January to 15.00 USD/kg in April for the US market. On the other hand, there has been stability in prices for the EU markets at 11.45 Euros/kg.
