Marketing and Product Development Specialist under the Vitamin A Sweet Potato Project promoted by HarvestPlus (USA). Organise the marketing of vitamin A sweet potatoes (orange-fleshed) by creating market linkages between Producer Associations and traders in urban and rural markets. Train sweet potato farmers and traders in post-harvest handling for retention of beta-carotene in the sweet potatoes. Strengthen the sweet potato supply chain using a participatory approach of market chain actors. Develop value addition through processing flours, improving packaging and grading for marketing in grocery shops, supermarkets and export.
From 04/2004 to 09/2006
Horticultural Production and Marketing Specialist under Agribusiness Management Associates (AMA). Carried out consultancy work in M&E of PMA; World Vision’s Arapai Area Development Program; FETAS under Uganda Cooperative Alliance and AAMP activities under IFAD funding.
